Here I will write about Things Any Manner Of ZedoNet.de, who bring us TurboPrint Studio for Linux…
The installer Script is simple and easy to run, it works well, and oh yeah, it lets me use the top shelf HP cut sheet printer, the HP PhotoSmart Pro B9180 printer at full 4800dpi!!! They are so nice they even have modular licensing arrangements. Thanks for TurboPrint Studio ZedoNet, I’ll be buying my license as soon as my trial is up. I’m sure you’ve saved the bacon of other Linux Photographers as well!
EDIT: Thursday, December 04, 2008:
Thank YOU for having such a long, full featured trial folks at ZEDOnet!!! I finally “pony-ed up” (read: paid) for my License to TurboPrint Studio 2 for Linux Last Night, and got it all set up!!! I’m THRILLED with it! Thanks for making Pro Grade options available for Linux, I appreciate it.
EDIT: Thursday (again??) February 05, 2009:
After many issues with the HP B9180 I am looking to replace it with an Epson Stylus Pro 3800, and am happy to announce that the three newest and most Photographer-Friendly Epsons for serious use (i.e. not “light duty” or “crazy” use) the R2880, the 3800 and the 4880 are all supported by ZEDOnet’s latest TurboPrint Studio for Linux Drivers. For the 3800 and 4880 printers, don’t forget to order the “XL” option for the large print size!!
I’m looking to Epson primarily because of build quality where they shine and HP has shown some mud on their face. A disappointment to me, but hey, thats the way the cookie crumbles. I now have an Epson Perfection V750 Scanner that I use in conjunciton with VueScan and am wowed by the quality of not just the machine, and it’s machine build quality, but also its performance and photogenic results! Epson for me baby!
